I'm sorry Taiwan, this is my paramour, Hong Kong.

Hong Kong, a with-in-2hour-flight escape from Taiwan. You can shop, you can drink, you can have a sweaty but very nice afternoon tea surrounded by people all around the world. You can see a 2 stories high old building just 50cm away from a 45 stories high modern commercial building. You can go to Wan Chai and pick up a Filipino escort and feel like you're THE MAN. You can see mainland chinese tourists doing some very cultural clashing activities, such as posing a 1950's pose or sleeping like it's their couch on Star Avenue, taking their shoes off and walk, lining up to buy French boutiques, and wearing the brands like it only costs 100NTD. You can also have lunch with VPs with a 5 million euro annual salary or a janitors making 7,000HKD a month around you. Backpackers buying their 25HKD beer from 7-11, and 1km away a group of expats opening a 2,500HKD bottle of wine in a fancy bar. None of that seems weird in Hong Kong. It's just a more obvious way to show their status, since they've got no time to waste in Hong Kong.

somehow this pose never grows old.

What I didn't love about Hong Kong before is all the commercial, capitalism, financial world and somehow you do see "Wolf of Wall Street" scenes happening here (what is wrong with men and their egos?) (and what the fuck is wrong with women pursuing those powerful charming men) (fucking chemistry). I guess that's what makes it different from Taiwan (about the men with their egos and women pursuing those men is not different.) (and talk about my personal issues later.). But in these years, I've discovered Hong Kong has this "soul" inside, maybe not the easiest to see considering the rent there for people to pursue their dreams is 10 times more difficult than Taipei.
Above all and what all the stories I ran into in my trips to Hong Kong, it has became my paramour. I no longer hate it. Well, when you love something so much, you somehow hate it. (right? we'll talk about my personal issues later again.)

I guess it goes for girls too.
Being a tourist is really tiring.

Like, seriously.

And a little drama happening here.

That is just romantic.

As now I am fed up of doing all the tourist stuff, our itinerary for these days are...none, just to change a place to waste time. So my friend and I found a lovely nice Cafe just down the street on Hollywood road, where we are staying. called Classified. That I fell in love with the first sight, I had to see it everyday of my visit in Hong Kong.
I'm sorry, I'm quite into western cuisine. I can't tell you where to have the local food. Call me 西餐妹all you want.

I can't really use words to describe this place. First of all, Taipei has a lot of nice cafes, and I mean A LOT. But this Classified....it's just...a mixture of everything I love. People coming over to grab a brunch, reading papers, walking their dogs and drinking some lemonade, meeting friends and having a coffee, food is great and healthy, drinks are good, staffs very friendly. It just all seem so natural, and not really like in Asia. Most of all, no tourists. (I'm not counting as one, never)

After my afternoon tea, I took a little walk in the back alleys of Sheung Wan. I did see many art galleries. But I loved the most was the random street arts.

(There goes my first two days in Hong Kong.)

It's always lovely to wake up in such view in Hong Kong, of course the time you are in Hong Kong you must learn to sound clever, that is not a joke, you MUST. So I woke up from a semi-hungover and started reading this book, and after 15mins of struggle I gave up and went to Classified again for my brunch. I guess if you can't sound clever just try to look clever. And don't talk.

My encounters for this afternoon.

Another thing I really adore about Hong Kong is the people here, they're quite interesting. For example, me and a male friend and other friends went to a rooftop bar we like in Wan Chai, called Wooloomooloo

Ok, I was terrible at taking this picture, but it is nice, believe me.

And as me and my friends were standing at the bar, ordering drinks, and waiting for seats. A German guy approached and started to chat with us. At first I thought he was aiming at me, but after 10 minutes I realized he was aiming at my male friend. And that was funny. I couldn't take a picture so I drew it down.

And that really just happened. There must be something happening in this world I'm not too aware of, that males are getting more attention from other males.

Another night in LKF, as I don't remember much about how much drinks I really had but still good to function. A very interesting guy (I'm not going to tell the nationality just in case he found my blog and realized I exposed him hahaha) was sitting in the park in LKF (well, you can't really say it's a park, it's just few benches and drunk people inside). He was very friendly, honestly. It's not a joke.

And this conversation happend;
'
Boy 1: (reaching his hand out to shake the coming boy 2) "Hey man! What's up!"
Boy 2: "Hey man, it's doing alright" (reaching his hand towards boy 1 to be friendly)
Boy 1: "You play basketball?"
Boy 2:(looking confused) "No, Why?"
Boy 1:"Because you are tall!"

Boy 2: (looking a bit furious and left.)

Yes, boy 2 was a tall black guy.

(We're not racist. It was just a very funny bad joke that occurred that evening.)

Which these stories makes my vacation more fulfilled and interesting. You can meet people from all over the world, you can listen to all of their stories, it's the most valuable things you can receive from traveling. Even these funny stories that happened.

As for the last day of my stay in Hong Kong this time, I chose to go to a more peaceful place to stay...the beach of course...silvermine beach...well, my last day here wasn't really the most pleasant day ever. As I am well known as Ms.Moody. (I'm bring up too much of my personal issues today)

I came up with a conclusion for my short and overly-unprepared trip to Hong Kong this time with - " I guess sometimes you understand the value of life when you lose the material ones"
Hong Kong may make you lose yourself from time to time. But don't ever forget where you are from and yourself. As I describe it as my paramour. Paramour as in Ellaria Sand. Yes... it's exotic and charming but not who you are...

(I'm not talking about my personal issues today, because it's my PMS time, I'm very emotional now)

Till next time.

Outstanding Job /

To whom it may concern,

For some people who doesn't understand English so well, when another person tells him/her, they did an "outstanding job", is it possible they really think of it as a job and go stand outside?

Yours,
I'm just saying

(Below the Chinese means "I don't know is it ok to stand here")

CSI Taipei s:1 evolution /

This is a little thing I want to fulfill on my bucket list.

No animal or person was harmed during taking these pictures, only drunk, but still none hurt. And did not interfere the traffic or broke any laws. yep)

How to ask for a menstrual leave when there's no such thing /

點圖放大 click the picture to see bigger version

Really, look what you made me do. Usually there's "menstrual leaves", I know some guys think it's bullshit, we can just take a painkiller and get over with it. Try take it ever month for 10 years and see if it does work.
And you imbeciles , we are the ones who is giving birth to children, I do not wish my uterus falls out with the baby.

Tall person's fate when it's raining /

I can't really say I'm that tall (Alright, I'm 172cm, which is tall for regular Asian girls).
But I do feel like a giant on the MRT most of the time when I stand up from my seat. Mostly when I feel tall are moments like when it's raining, as drawn.

Constantly you get umbrellas poking your forehead. Companion trying to be nice holding the umbrella, but your head is tilting a 45 degrees angle. Or, holding the umbrella for everyone else because you will always tilt your head 45 degrees when someone shorter then you is holding the umbrella, which is, quite often for me. Don't even mention how long you have to hold it for everyone.

that was the serendipity for me :)

Food Porn in Taipei - La MESA Spanish bistro

As one day I really wanted a paella for no reason, maybe Jamie Oliver again or TLC... Thanks to my Spanish friend who showed me this nice Spanish bistro in Taipei, close to Sun-Yat Sen Memorial hall station. This paella (as a true Spanish said) isn't really local, but it's good enough for Taiwan, PLUS the place is super nice.

Spaghetti bolognese]

Pate de l'amour de la famile

Spaghetti
Parmigiano Reggiano
Italian seasoning

and voila again! bon appetit!

假果醬"感...if you know what I'm saying....

And voila! Bon appetit!
